The College... and its aims
The College is in its 15th year of successfully training practitioners to support and serve the population of the UK. The Principals have recognised that the need of the public in foot health provision cannot be adequately met by the NHS. In addition, we believe that the public should have a genuine choice of where and when they can obtain treatment and in the nature of the treatment they can access. Foot care is absolutely essential to the maintenance of good health, and is cost-effective in averting and delaying the onset of serious illness requiring costly intervention.
The Principals also recognise the essential need for modern health care professionals to attain standards realistically required for safe and effective 21st century health care practice. To this end the College offers a range of post qualification diplomas, workshops, master-classes and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities to support its students beyond their first qualification.
This College endorses and embraces the concept of Continual Professional Development
and encourages post qualification development
Our Mission
The College of Foot Health Practitioners is set up with the deliberate intention of elevating the standards of private
foot health practitioners. Private practitioners are absolutely necessary to the needs of their local communities, more
so now than ever before. With long waiting lists and the low level of satisfaction expressed by many patients it is
clear that local authority clinics and hospital-based departments can never meet the real needs of the
population in the matter of foot health. Our services are necessary. They must be safely delivered with expertise and understanding.
Quality Policy
This College was the first institution to offer a Diploma in Foot Health Practice, and has defined the occupation and
created the benchmark for the profession. The Course is newly written and right up to the minute in its content and internal verification ensures equality of delivery.
The Theory Modules are fortified by an optional 2 day tutorial session to help you get the best understanding from the course.
An informative lecture series accompanies the practical training in order to impart as much as possible to you
in your time with us. The programme is designed to build your confidence and your self presentation skills.
Everyone at the College is friendly, approachable and willing to help. And the support goes on beyond the end of your course. We are always ready to answer any questions you may have, and we are only as far away as the telephone

The College of Foot Heath Practitioners holds NCFE IIQ licence parts A & B. NCFE have mapped the Quality Statements to a range of standards; ISO 9001, Investors in People, EFQM, the Common Inspection Framework, Matrix and Recognising and Recording Progression and Achievement (RARPA). The licence allows us to accredit an unlimited number of our own specialist programmes
What does ncfe mean?
In 1981, the Northern Advisory Council for Further Education (NACFE), which was established in 1947 to co-ordinate further education provision throughout the nine LEAs, merged with the NCTEC to become the Northern Council for Further Education.
When the further education sector was incorporated (made independent of the government) in the early 1990s the company felt the old name was incompatible with our new national focus and has since then been identified simply as NCFE with the letters no longer being an acronym.
