Welcome to the College of Foot Health Practitioners
Foot Health Practitioners attend to all the common conditions that affect the foot and leg ranging from routine care of nails, treatment of verrucae, corns, callus, right through to functional problems of the foot. Students that graduate from our Level 4 Diploma in Foot Health Practice gain a working know-how and qualification to establish themselves in private practice.
The course begins with 12 theory modules, studied at your own pace, with interactive support and guidance from the college. The modules teach anatomy, physiology, diagnosis and treatment, and cover every aspect of starting and running your own practice. [We offer an optional 2 day course workshop to help you get the best understanding from the course. This is thoroughly recommended, and there is no doubt that those who elect to take these days benefit greatly from the experience].
The course is recognised and accredited Level 4 by NCFE - one of the leading UK accreditation bodies (see The College and its Aims - left menu).
This is a genuine opportunity for career change, and by charging realistic fees and justifying them by attentive service it is possible to earnat a good rate, either in a private surgery or by low-overheads domiciliary visiting.
# Ongoing support is provided indefinitely by this College
# Take further clinical training if you need it at no extra cost
# Advanced training and Continuing Professional Development are available from the College
Quaified Practitioners are recognised by www.thealliancepsp.com for insurance cover of all aspects of practice. The Alliance will help you to grow and develop your practice by offering update and Continuing Professional Development opportunities.
Refreshment Training is available from the College - see left menu
N.B. To call yourself a "Chiropodist" or "Podiatrist "or to work in the NHS you must complete a three-year honours degree course at university. We train practitioners for independant self-employment in the private sector. Foot Health Practitioners train at approximately one-quarter of the cost in less than one-third of the time. This means you can have two years experience and earn two year's worth of fees by the time you might have completed your degree. Having said that, many graduates of this College have gone on to successfully complete an honours degree after gaining the insight and understanding that our training delivers.
Finally....
The only effective way to research the subject is to come directly to the source. We are always pleased to answer your questions.
Reading or posting on podiatry forums is not research. Foot Health Practice is not Podiatry - and Podiatrists know nothing about Foot Health Practice or how it is taught.
Thank you for taking the time to read about our course. Our web site has a vast amount of information but please feel free to contact us with any other questions that you may have. We have scheduled open days so that you can view the clinics in progress and talk to the students if you wish, but if you cannot make these we offer an open invitation to view the college at any time.
