ESSENTIAL WORKSHOPS

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (10 CPD points)
The 4 hour course leads to award of a Certificate on successful completion that is valid for 3 years and is designed to cover the situations that might be encountered in the course of our work in the domiciliary or surgery settings. Needs to be completed annually by those qualified in Local Anaesthesia

ADVANCED WORKSHOPS

REMEDIAL MASSAGE WORKSHOP
This one-day workshop doubles as the practical training element of the Remedial Massage Course. Those pursuing the course attend the workshop as the concluding part of their course. The workshop is also open to anyone with an interest in the subject, and all are welcome. With two sessions....10.00 til 1.00 and 2.00 til 4.00, the workshop consists of some explanatory theory but is mostly practical with ‘hands-on’ participation and involvement. Those attending must expect to become fully-involved and bring or wear shorts, ski-pants or tracksuit so that they can take part. The practical part of the workshop will be conducted by Jenny Bonser and 10 CPD points are awarded on completion.
Examination, Injuries and Clinical Tests: demonstration of ROM measurement, draw tests, Lachman’s test, talar tilt test, Apley grind test, Thomas’ test, Trendelenberg test.......hands on massage

BIOMECHANICS PRACTICAL WORKSHOP
Biomechanics practicals are run for those completing the Biomechanics Course but can also be attended by anyone who wants to see how biomechanics is done. The 1½ day practical is run periodically, throughout the year.
