College Foot Health Practitioners F.A.Q's :: Your Questions Answered

Q. How long does it take to complete the lessons ?
A.
The whole course of 6 lessons and 11 practical days is designed to be completed in 6-8 months or as soon as you wish.

Q. Must I have medical background?
A. No. We recognise that some learners will have relevant experience and that others will be new to medical matters. CFHP Courses are designed to be understandable to the medically inexperienced, and yet contain material that will be new to those with previously gained medical knowledge

Q. Is there an age limit?
A. Age is no barrier. We have taught students 17 - 75.
Q. What are the entry requirements ?
A.You must be able to read and write and demonstrate hand/eye co-ordination and have a current clear Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.

Q. When does the term begin - how soon can I start?
A. Immediately. When you have completed the enrolment and induction procedure you will be ready to start your first lesson. Complete the progress paper when ready and send it to us by email attachment or post..


Q. How is the Practical Training given.
A. The Practical Training takes place in the college clinics, where students work under supervision on real patients. The Principals are trained teachers and tutors teach current techniques

Q. Am I insured whilst training?
A. Yes. Whilst at the College you are covered by the Colleges own insurance policies. The Alliance of Private Sector Practitioners offers full insurance protection for the practice of all disciplines taught at the college.
Q. Are there any hidden costs?
A. No - but you will need to consider set-up costs. A range of equipment, books and materials can be purchased from the College or our on-line shop www.collegefhp.com -to view details click on Shop - top of page. Food, accommodation and travel costs are your only other expenses.

Q. Can I view the College before enrolment?
A. Yes, ring to make an appointment to view the College. You will be made most welcome. Come when the College is open, talk to our staff and students, ask their opinion. Dates of student clinics are shown on the Events and Course Dates page. You can view the College at other times but the student clinics will not be active.
