Nearly one year on since graduating - some photos and my diary.
March 27th 2004 Gained my Diploma from the College of Foot Health Practitioners
April - May Built up 200 domiciliary visits - nice little earner. Printed leaflets - gave to
doctor’s surgeries, homes, community halls, charity shops, etc.
Worked well.
June 8th Opened my first satellite clinic. I gave a discount for OAPs - nail trims for
only £10. I was fully booked. I had to take on a receptionist, Sarah, who
loves her job.
July - September Domiciliary work still coming in. Everyone has calluses - all those lovely
holidays.
October 16th Opened another satellite clinic - very busy - help!!
I’m tired - but the money’s good.
January 2005

My jewel in the crown. I have opened my own clinic in
Bridgend Town Centre - Bridgend Foot Clinic. A clinic with four rooms, etc. At last, a place for my autoclave. I am well respected in the community. Some call me the ‘foot doctor’. I just want to help people get their feet well again.

The Clinic was declared open on Saturday 2nd April 2005 by the Lord Mayor of Bridgend, Councillor Peter Evans, accompanied by his wife Barbra. This proved a good time to open as the town held a Continental Market on the same day
Thank you I would like to say thank you to all at the College of Foot Health Practitioners for giving me this gift for helping others in need, and to my receptionist, Sarah, who believed in me when nobody else thought I could do it.

Maria has sent us a whole lot of interesting promotional literature, vouchers, leaflets and photographs. And she has had her photograph in the Bridgend and Valleys Recorder in a write up about the Berwyn Centre where she runs a regular clinic. Hard work has paid off here. It has to be said that Maria has absorbed our teachings, has gone out there to inform people of her availability - and it has worked for her.

Husband David is training now so that he can help share the workload.
