ABOUT COLLLEGE OF FOOT HEALTH PRACTITIONERS
We Are The Only Accredited College Dedicated Exclusively To Foot Health Practitioners
Our students come from all walks of life. Some might have a background in health care - such as nurses seeking to gain greater control over their lives and free themselves from demanding and disruptive duty rotas. Others may wish to return to work after raising children and seek to do something different, yet worthwhile and satisfying. They are all essentially just like yourself. A medical background is not necessary. The course is designed to be accessible to anyone with average literacy who is prepared to put in some effort to achieve something worthwhile.
The College has taught students from all parts of the world. Our diplomates (DipCFHP) build, run and enjoy successful practices. How do we know? Because we meet them regularly at functions such as the Open Clinical Forums and Annual Seminars of the Alliance of Private Sector Practitioners, the professional body through which our people obtain professional guidance, professional liability insurance and continuing professional development. This allows social interaction and keeps colleagues together as one big, happy, supportive family.

Our Mission
Private practitioners are absolutely necessary to the needs of their local communities, more so now than ever before. With long waiting lists and the low level of satisfaction expressed by many patients it is clear that local authority clinics and hospital-based departments can never meet the real needs of the population in the matter of foot health. Our services are necessary. They must be safely delivered with expertise and understanding.

PSA Register
The Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care sets standards for organisations holding registers for health and social care occupations and accredits those registers that meet the standards.

WE ARE A COMMITTED & EXCELLENT SERVICE AND SUPPORT

THE COLLEGE & IT'S AIMS
The College is in its 19th year of successfully training practitioners to support and serve the population of the UK. It is recognised that the need of the public in foot health provision cannot be adequately met by the NHS. In addition, we believe that the public should have a genuine choice of where and when they can obtain treatment and in the nature of the treatment they can access. Foot care is absolutely essential to the maintenance of good health, and is effective in averting serious illness requiring costly intervention.

QUALITY POLICY
This College delivers a Level 4 Diploma in Foot Health Practice - the level and delivery of which is assured by NCFE. NCFE accreditation gives assurance that the content of a training course is of a high standard and meets the rigorous quality assurance of a national awarding organisation.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS AUTHORITY
The Authority oversees statutory bodies that regulate health and social care professionals in the UK, including the GMC, NMC and HCPC. This College is the first institution training in Foot Health Practice to offer a course that permits direct entry into an Authority Accredited Register.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS AUTHORITY ACCREDITED REGISTER
This College is the first institution training in Foot Health Practice to offer a course that permits direct entry into an Authority Accredited Register. The Alliance's Accredited Register of Foot Health Practitioners recognises and accepts those trained at the College of Foot Health Practitioners for listing on the Register by Route A. Those that train by any other route can still apply for entry into the Accredited Register of Foot Health Practitioners, but must enter by Route B, which requires that they must take and pass a Test of Competence before they can be listed on the Register. For public protection the Test of Competence is designed to ensure the absolute ability of fitness to practice.
This register is currently the only register available to Foot Health Practitioners that is accredited by the government-appointed Professional Standards Authority. Accredited Register membership is a mark of quality and demonstrates an undertaking to practise professionally and accept professional accountability. Only members of an accredited register are allowed to display their logo or declare themselves 'Member of the Accredited Register of Foot Health Practitioners'. A £10,000 fine can be levied by the Professional Standards Authority upon those who make false claim.
