Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work
The “Emergency First Aid” masterclass equips Foot Health Practitioners with essential skills to handle a range of medical emergencies, from cardiovascular crises to traumatic injuries. Participants will gain proficiency in CPR, basic life support, and injury management, while also understanding the legal and ethical aspects of emergency care.

Overview
Description: This critical masterclass is designed to equip Foot Health Practitioners with the skills necessary to respond to emergencies in a clinical setting. The course covers a wide range of emergency scenarios, from cardiovascular crises such as heart attacks and strokes to traumatic injuries like fractures and burns. Participants will be trained in the use of first aid equipment, the administration of CPR, and the management of acute allergic reactions, including the use of epinephrine. Legal and ethical considerations, such as consent and documentation, will also be addressed.
Key Learning Outcomes:
- Comprehensive Emergency Response: Learn to quickly and effectively respond to a variety of medical emergencies, ensuring patient safety.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS): Achieve proficiency in CPR and BLS techniques, including the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).
- Injury and Trauma Management: Develop skills in managing fractures, burns, and other traumatic injuries until further medical help is available.
- Legal and Ethical Competence: Understand the legal responsibilities in emergency care, including the importance of informed consent and accurate documentation.
Please note that the Emergency First Aid diploma is valid for 3 years from the date of completion, after which it will need to be renewed.
About our first aid trainer:
Simon Greenfield is a Specialist Paramedic (emergency care) with over 25 years’ experience in the NHS Ambulance Service and humanitarian sector. He has a wealth of experience in delivering medical care at major music festivals and sporting events, in conflict zones and natural disasters, having worked alongside organisations such as UNICEF and Save The Children
His work has taken him to a multitude of countries including The Gambia, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Tanzania and Syria and in April 2015 along with other volunteers from Humanity First Medical, Simon was deployed to the Nepal earthquake to provide remote medical care to the people of Nepal.
More recently, he was involved with a small team delivering essential medical and humanitarian supplies to the Poland/Ukraine border for the use of health care professionals and civilians within the war zone.
